Junior High Performance Scholarship

Adelaide Triathlon Club is proud to present our Junior High Performance Scholarship recipient for 2017 – Daniel Canala. Daniel has been a member of ATC since 2013, and was also the recipient of the JHP scholarship in 2014, its inaugural year.

Daniel has really achieved some great highs in triathlon over this time, most recently coming 2nd at the World Duathlon Championships in Aviles, Spain in 2016 (U23). He has his U23 professional license, and is ready to take the next step in triathlon, competing at an international level with his sights set on the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

This scholarship will assist Dan in travel costs to get to interstate and international races, provides ATC uniform, and free entry to our events: Silver Sands and Murrayman. Chris Wigell, professional triathlete and club superstar, has also offered his services as mentor. Dan will be a role model to all our club members, and is happy to chat when you see him out and about at races and training, as well as writing for the club newsletter about aspects of his triathlon life. So stay tuned for an exciting year!
